Chattanooga Boys Choir Promotes Music Education With Performances April 16-17

  • Friday, April 10, 2015

The Chattanooga Boys Choir is participating in two events April 16-17 designed to promote and create awareness of the importance of music and arts education for students in the Chattanooga area.

The Tennessee Valley Voices will perform the national anthem prior to the start of the Hamilton County Department of Education school board meeting on Thursday.  The Tennessee Valley Voices is a Chattanooga Boys Choir-sponsored choir comprised of local arts teachers – primarily music teachers in HCDE public schools – who gather and perform to bring attention to the work of area music and arts programs and to highlight the importance of arts education for area students.

The Chattanooga Boys Choir will hold its annual KidSing concert on Friday, April 17.  This year’s event will be held at Snow Hill Elementary School.  Local area children from across the community are invited to arrive at 6 p.m. to learn two songs taught to them by members of the choir.   The CBC will perform at 6:30 p.m. and children who come prior to the concert will be invited on stage to perform with the CBC to close the concert.  This program is free and open to the public – all children are invited to participate.
