William Bowen
William Joshua Bowen, Sr., 83, of Chattanooga, died on Sunday, May 24, 2015 Life Care of Ooltewah.
He was born July 22, 1931 in Atkinson County, Ga., to the late Clayton and Lola Bowen.
He was a loving husband and father. He will be missed. He attended Morris Hill Baptist Church.
He was employed at Lockheed Martin in Orlando, as an engineer technician in the missile industry for many years. He retired in 1997.
His wife, Pauline Retta Bowen (2013), his son, William J. Bowen, Jr. (1993), and his grandson, Douglas Curry (2005) preceded him in death.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Clyde Curry, Jr. of Hayesville, North Carolina; sisters, Erma Grace Whitley and Carlene Gilespy of Jacksonville, Florida; and Ludell of Douglas, Georiga; brother, Calvin Bowen of Douglas, Georiga; grandchildren, Clyde (Leeda) Curry, III, Karen Killian, Cheri and Jason Clay; and great-grandchildren, Emily (Adam), Ashley, Analee, Ellie, Lawson and Kaitlyn.
Visitation will be on Saturday, May 30, from 2-3 p.m. in the funeral home with services following at 3 p.m., conducted by Pastor Bill Mason of Morris Hill Baptist Church
Interment will be at Ooltewah Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service.
