Woman Who Died In Fall From Lookout Mountain's Sunset Rock Was Sara Hunt Of Chattanooga

The woman died in a fall from Lookout Mountain's Sunset Rock on Tuesday afternoon was identified as Sara Hunt of Chattanooga.

Chickamauga Park Chief Ranger Todd Roeder said she fell about 90 feet.

He said two people on the trail below tried to revive her, but were unsuccessful.

The body was brought out by rescue personnel and taken to the medical examiner's office.

The 911 call came in at 5:15 p.m.

The National Park Service will carry out an investigation.

Chief Ranger Roeder said apparently no one was with the woman when she went over the edge.

He said she was 30 years old.
