Robert “Bob” Taylor McAlister, Sr., 67, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015 in a Chattanooga hospital.
He retired from Olin Chemical after 48 years of service. Bob was a member of the VFW, Post #2598 and was also an avid fan of UT football and NASCAR. He was of the Church of God faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Barbara Jean Moore McAlister; and brother, Dale McAlister.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Billie McAlister of Cleveland; children, Robert T. McAlister, Jr. and Mark A. McAlister and Becky, all of Cleveland; three grandchildren, Nick McAlister and Neyland McAlister, both of Cleveland and Matthew McAlister of Tullahoma; five great grandchildren, McKenzie, Gavin Riley, Lindsey and Will; three step-grandchildren, Casey Crittenden, Tasha Crittenden and Haley Harden; brother, Benny McAlister and his children, Wendy and Brian, all of Cleveland; and nieces, Shannon and Ashley.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4 in the chapel Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with the Reverend Joe Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Union Grove Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery.
His family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3 at the funeral home.
