  • Friday, January 15, 2016

Sevier County Juvenile officials said Friday that bond hearings have been held for two of three former Ooltewah High School basketball team members who are charged with an older teammate of the aggravated rape of a 15-year-old teammate.

The hearings were held on Dec. 30 and Jan. 11.

It did not say whether bond was made.

The 17-year-old who was charged is being held at a detention center in Sevier County.

A hearing in the case is tentatively set before a Sevier County judge on Jan. 26 at 9 a.m. Court officials said that is subject to change.

The three youths are under a restraining order to say away from Ooltewah High "to prevent the victims from having any kind of uncomfortable or threatening situation pending completion of this case."

Authorities said three other freshmen basketball players were also hazed with the use of a pool cue at a rental cabin in Gatlinburg on Dec. 22.
