Car Crashes Into Furniture Store In Dalton; Teen Hurt

The Dalton Police Department is investigating a single-car crash on Glenwood Avenue Sunday night that ended with a car crashing into a storefront and a teenage passenger being sent to the hospital.

The crash happened at approximately 9:50 p.m. A Nissan Armada SUV driven by 22-year-old Yuritzy Pina was traveling southbound on Glenwood when it left the roadway and crashed into the front of the Jot'm Down Furniture store at 311 Glenwood Ave.

Ms. Pina told investigators that she was cut off by another vehicle and was forced off the road.  The SUV had three teenaged passengers. One of them, a 16-year-old female, was transported to Hamilton Medical Center by ambulance. Her injuries are not considered life threatening. The furniture store sustained heavy damage to the front of the showroom area.

This crash is being investigated by the Dalton Police Department's Traffic Unit and at this time no charges have been filed. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact Officer Sean Hudson at 706-278-9085, dial 9 and enter extension 312.
