Man Burned In House Fire Saturday Afternoon

Chattanooga firefighters responded to a house fire at 3223 6th Ave. around 5:45 p.m. on Saturday.
 
Battalion Chief Ashley May said the fire was located on the back porch. The firefighters attacked the fire aggressively and had the fire out in roughly five minutes.
The loss was estimated at $10,000.

There was one injury in this fire.
Chief May said a 60-year-old man had second-degree burns to both of his forearms. He was transported to Erlanger Medical Center by Hamilton County EMS. His injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Chattanooga Police also provided assistance on the scene.
