Chattanooga fire investigators are trying to figure out what started a fire in a large, two-story home in Brainerd.

The Chattanooga Fire Department received the alarm at 3:11 p.m. and responded to 125 Shawnee Trail with four fire companies. The first firefighters to arrive from Station 13 saw smoke and flames coming from the roof.
The firefighters used hand-held hoselines to make an interior attack and later on also used an aerial to help get the fire under control. No injuries were reported.

Battalion Chief Nate Middlebrooks said no one appeared to be in the house when firefighters arrived, and it looked like the structure was in the process of being renovated. An estimate on the dollar loss was not available. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Chattanooga Police, Hamilton County EMS and Chattanooga-Hamilton County Rescue also provided valuable assistance on the scene.
