Catoosa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a burglary in progress call on Monday, around 9 a.m. at 215 School Street, Rossville, in which shots were fired at the homeowner.

Upon arrival, deputies were met by Richard Brown, who advised he came home to find his front door open and two men inside his residence.  He said an older model, black Honda Civic with the clear-coat chipping off was in his driveway. After pulling into his driveway, Mr. Brown said the men exited out a side door in an attempt to flee.

Mr. Brown said both suspects were black. The first suspect was approximately 5’7” tall, 150 pounds, wearing a teal bandana on his face, black T-shirt and blue jean shorts. This man ran to the driver side of the vehicle. The second suspect was approximately 6’4” tall, 180 pounds, having dreadlocks or braids, wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans. This man, while running to the  passenger’s side of the Honda Civic, began shooting at Mr. Brown while he was still inside his vehicle. Mr. Brown’s vehicle was struck several times by the gunfire; however, Mr. Brown was not injured. The suspects then fled. Surrounding agencies were notified of the incident and asked to be on the lookout for the suspect vehicle and/or suspects.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who has information regarding the suspects and/or the suspect vehicle is asked to contact the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office at 706 935-2424.
