Bradley County Sheriff's Department Issues Scam Alert

  • Sunday, July 17, 2016

Numerous residents within Cleveland/Bradley County have received suspicious phone calls stating the recipient of the call or their family member have missed a Grand Jury court date. The caller further states a fee has to be paid through PayPal or a Green Dot pre-paid card to cancel the criminal warrant that was issued through the court.

These calls are a scam. Residents should be aware when calling back the number because a pre-recorded voicemail indicates it has been recorded by “Bradley County Jail”; however, this is not affiliated with the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office.

Residents should be aware that Bradley County Sheriff’s Office personnel will never ask for a payment, under any circumstance, via phone. If a phone call is received, it should be immediately reported to local law-enforcement.
