Main Perpetrator In Ooltewah High Rape Case Ruled Guilty Of Aggravated Rape; 2 Others Guilty Of Aggravated Assault; Coach To Appear In Court Wednesday

The main perpetrator in the Ooltewah High School basketball team rape case was found guilty on Tuesday following Juvenile Court proceedings in Sevier County.

A judge found two other team members guilty of aggravated assault.

Those two held down freshmen teammates, while the main perpetrator inserted a pool cue into the rectal area over their clothes.

The cut penetrated the clothing of one freshman who tried to resist, and he was seriously injured.

An attorney for that youth said he plans to file a lawsuit against the Hamilton County Department of Education in about a week.

New reporters were not allowed into the hearing at Sevierville.

The incident happened at a cabin at Gatlinburg just before Christmas.

Meanwhile, coach Andre Montgomery, who was charged with failing to report the incident, was to appear before Criminal Court Judge Don Poole on Wednesday morning.
