A large fire broke out early Sunday morning at the abandoned American Research and Knitting building in Cleveland.

A number of fire units were at the plant at 180 6th St SE.

Damage to the building appeared to be extensive, with the roof and some walls having fallen in.

The fire knocked out power to some sections of Cleveland.

Residents of some nearby apartments were evacuated for fear the fire might spread.
