"A Night To Honor Israel" Coming To Ringgold Colonnade Nov. 9

Christians United for Israel, along with churches in North Georgia and the Greater Chattanooga area, invite the community to a “Night to Honor Israel” on Thursday, Nov. 9, 7 p.m. at the Colonnade, 264 Catoosa Circle, in Ringgold. 

"The purpose of this event is to show solidarity between Jewish people and Christians in their support of Israel.  The event is open to the public.  There is no cost to attend.  A complimentary reception will follow the event. All people are welcome regardless of religion or denomination," officials said.

The keynote speakers are Pastor Matthew Hagee and Major Elliot Chodoff. 

Pastor Matt Hagee serves as the executive pastor of the 20,000 member Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Tx., where he ministers with his father, founder Pastor John Hagee.  Pastor Matt Hagee is an accomplished vocalist and founder of the Dove-Award winning gospel quartet, Canton Junction.  His teachings and faith-based talk shows, The Difference and Hagee Hotline, are telecast throughout the world on radio, television and GETV.org.  Additionally his publications include an August 2017 book release entitled:  Your Guide to the Apocalypse.

Major Elliot Chodoff is a political and military analyst specializing in Middle East conflict and the global war on terrorists, and a Major in the IDF reserves.  He serves as the deputy chief of staff for Population for the Northern Region of Israel, in Home Front Command.  He served on active duty in the north for five weeks during the 2006 Lebanon War In the summer of 2005 he served in Gush Katif during the Gaza Disengagement. And, in 2004 he was a member of the rescue team in the aftermath of the bombing of the Taba Hilton.  He is an expert in infantry weapons and tactics, and teaches courses in field craft and small unit tactics.

Local participation includes musical presentations by the Lee University Lee Singers conducted by Dr. Brad Moffett.  Vocalists will include Pastor Matt Hagee and Sandy Hagee Parker.  The ROTC from Ringgold High School will act as the Color Guard.  Scouts from the Cherokee Area Council Boy Scouts of America will serve as parking attendants and ushers. 

The Christian and Jewish Communities have been working together for five years and will be represented by local pastors, the Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga and CUFI city directors.  Pastor Lyndon Allen, CUFI Central Regional coordinator, will blow the shofar. 

Participating community members include: Rabbi Susan Tendler, B’nai Zion Congregation, Chattanooga; Michael Dzik, executive director, Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga; and Chen Dahon, Israeli Cultural emissary with the Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga.   Pastor Bret Yaeger, Temple Baptist Church in Dalton, Georgia, will serve as the master of ceremonies.
