Charlie Parker

The Barking Legs Theater quarterly series in association with the Knoxville Jazz Orchestra kicks off 2017 with a tribute to the great Bird–or Yardbird–Charlie Parker on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Review for the show:

Not only one of jazz’s most important instrumentalists, Bird revolutionized music as one of the founding fathers of the Bebop movement, taking jazz into an unprecedented high gear, and setting the bar for all who aspire to master America’s sublime art form.

The band features Mark Tucker, Vance Thompson, John Hamar, Keith Brown and Bill Swann.

There will be a special $10 price for students on this show.  Other tickets are $15 in advance or day of the show and available here
