Sheriff's Office Investigating Death Of Inmate Carl Bray, 54

Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Correction deputies were called on Wednesday to a first floor cell by inmates reporting that fellow inmate Carl Bray III, 54, was unresponsive.  

Upon locating Bray, HCSO personnel immediately notified EMS and began life saving support efforts which were continued by Hamilton County EMS personnel who transported Bray to a local hospital where he later died.

Carl Bray was arrested in Tuesday evening by the East Ridge Police Department and booked into the Hamilton County Jail on a charge of driving under the influence.

The Hamilton County District Attorney’s Office has directed the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office to conduct an investigation into Mr.
Bray’s death.
