  • Thursday, February 15, 2018

Dementia is a life-changing diagnosis. Caring for a loved one with dementia can leave the caregiver feeling exhausted, angry or guilty.  CHI Memorial Center for Healthy Aging is hosting a Dementia Caregiver Support Group on Monday, Feb.

26, from 6:30–7:30 p.m. at CHI Memorial Imaging Center, 6401 Mountain View Road, Ooltewah, Tn. 37363. The support group will give caregivers an opportunity to meet with others who understand the demands and stresses of caring for someone with dementia.

The focus of this meeting will be dementia caregiver burnout.  Discussion topics include: What is caregiver burnout with dementia patients?; How to recognize the signs of caregiver burnout; and How to manage caregiver guilt.  The support group will be led by Adrian Boyd, social worker with CHI Memorial Center for Healthy Aging.

There is no charge to attend the Dementia Caregiver Support Group. To RSVP, or for more information, call 423 682-8150.
