Sheila Diane Wilson, 56, lifelong resident of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Saturday morning, March 10, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Sheila was born on September 4, 1961 in Ringgold, Ga., a daughter of the late Marlen Holder and Dorothy Cochran Sutton.  Along with her parents she was also preceded in death by a brother, David Holder; and grandparents, Alvin and Eula Cochran, Ben and Earline Holder.

She was a graduate of Southeast High School class of 1979.  Prior to her sickness she was the office manager at Alpha Waste Disposal. She was an avid reader and a big fan of George Strait and his country music. Sheila loved her family above all.  She was the best mom, nana, sister, and friend that anyone could ever wish for.  Sheila could make friends and get along with anyone from any walk of life, no matter their status.  She would do anything, for anyone, at any time.  Heaven’s gain is surely our family’s loss.

Sheila is survived by her life partner and forever love, Scott Sims; her children, and their spouses, Amanda and Kyle Lawless all of Dalton, Jonathan and Jen Wilson of Fairbanks, Alaska, January and Josh Jones of Calhoun, Georgia; her grandchildren, Peyton, Caleb, and Noah Wilson, Emily Lawless, Kevyn and Wyatt Jones; special great-nephews, Kade and Kason West; her sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Jerry Beavers of Rocky Face; her brother and sister-in-law, Dewayne and Dorie Holder; special friends, Marsha Weber and Sharon King; and a host of several other family members and friends also survive.

A service to celebrate the life of Sheila Wilson will be held on Tuesday, March 13, at 6 p.m. from the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Brother Randell Trammell officiating.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, at the funeral home, from 3 p.m. until the service hour.

Following the service to honor Sheila’s wishes she will be cremated.  Interment will follow at a later date at United Memorial Gardens.
