A concert by Donald Brown, jazz pianist and composer, at Brainerd Presbyterian Church, has been postponed due to an injury.

A native of Desoto, Miss., Donald Brown's family moved to Memphis when he was two. Coming from a musical family, he played several different instruments, including the trumpet, before settling on the piano.

After graduation from Memphis State, he later found himself a member of the Art Blakey Jazz Messengers.
He performed with a number of jazz greats during his long career.

Donald Brown now lives in Knoxville and is an associate professor at the University of Tennessee.

Officials hope to reschedule the concert in the fall.
