The Judge David Campbell Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution has named Emily Landry, a senior at Whitwell High School, as the recipient of the DAR Good Citizens Scholarship Award.
Officials said, "This prestigious honor is presented to a high school senior who exemplifies the qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism."
Ms. Landry has received awards in physical science, algebra I, Spanish I and II, along with a certificate of excellence for her participation in the school band.
She placed third in SVEC’s 2025 creative writing competition and scored a 32 on the ACT. She has volunteered at the Marion Animal Resource Connection and plans to pursue a major in linguistics at UNC Chapel Hill. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, writing and crocheting.
