A man and a woman were killed in a Sunday morning murder/homicide at a gas station in Hixson.
The shooting was shortly after 10 a.m. at a Shell station at Hixson Pike and Brookaire.
Upon arrival, police located Kimberly Phillips, 48, lying in the parking lot from an apparent gunshot wound. Also in the same parking lot, officers located Frederick Tragresser, 47, seated in a vehicle suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Through investigation, it was determined that Tragresser shot Ms. Phillips, then shot himself.
Hamilton County EMS personnel pronounced Ms. Phillips dead at the scene.
HCEMS transported Tragresser to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his self-inflicted injuries.
Investigators determined the two deceased people were divorced from each other.
