Richard Howard Geck, 78, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 28, 2018.

He was a longtime member of Christ United Methodist Church, a die-hard Alabama football fan, and greatly enjoyed his time with friends at the Hamilton Family YMCA.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Judy Slater Geck; daughters, Kelly (Mark) Lasky of Clarkesville, Ga., Connie (Kent) Cook of Mobile, Al., Carolyn (Jon) Kell of Chattanooga; son, Mark Slater Jr. (Lorrie); granddaughters, Laura (Rob) Freeman, Libby (Steven) Hatcher, Jessica Fritz, Callie Kell, Jaime Barlow, Tori Ballard, Alexa Slater; Grandsons, Noah Fritz, Jonathon Kell, Timothy (Cary) Ballard, Matthew Slater, and two great-granddaughters.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 31, at Christ United Methodist Church with Reverend David Hall officiating. Interment with honors will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
