Crossville Man Charged With Robbing Cleveland Drug Store, Fleeing From Police

A Crossville man has been charged with robbing a Cleveland, Tn., drug store and then trying to flee.

Terry Hassler, 43, was charged with aggravated robbery and evading arrest.

The incident happened on Friday afternoon. At 4:33 p.m., the 911 Communications Center advised of an armed robbery in progress at CVS at 180 Keith St. SW.

Cleveland Police officers were advised that the suspect fled the scene in a white vehicle. Officers observed a vehicle fitting the description leaving the parking lot of the business. The vehicle turned northbound on Grove Avenue.

Cleveland Police pursued the vehicle as it headed north on Keith Street. The suspect finally pulled his vehicle over and came to a stop at 6260 North Lee Hwy. A felony traffic stop was then conducted.

Police said Hassler complied with officers’ commands and was taken into custody. He was transported to the Cleveland Police Department for further questioning.
