Officials Identify Monday's Stabbing Suspect As Richard Thomas Demerritt

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of the two men involved in Monday night’s stabbing incident on Daisy Dallas Road.

The suspect’s name is Richard Thomas Demerritt. The victim’s name was Christopher Teeters.
 
A Hamilton County Sheriff K-9 on Monday night led deputies to a man authorities said fled a house on Daisy Dallas Road after stabbing another man.
 
At approximately 9:50 p.m., deputies responded to 8520 Daisy Dallas Road for the report of a stabbing. 

Upon arrival at the residence, deputies found that the two men had reportedly gotten into an argument that led to Demeritt stabbing Teeters.
Teeters remained at the residence and Demerett took off into the woods. 

Demeritt was taken into custody without incident after K-9 Deputy Tynne, a trained tracking canine, located him the woods.

Teeters was transported to a local hospital with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
