James “Windy” Doyle Dixon of Whitwell, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2018.
Windy as he was known by his many friends and family was raised in Marion County and resided in Whitwell. He was proudly retired from CSX Railroad where he served as a carman. After his retirement he enjoyed his time being a jack of all trades as an electrician, carpenter and the go to well pump man for the Marion Co. area. The only thing he enjoyed more than working was talking about his dislike of Republicans and is absolute love for his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his ex-wife, Donna McCullough Dixon, two children, son, Michael Sean Dixon (Tiffany Foster Dixon) of Medina, Oh., daughter, Wendy Michelle Dixon Moore (Bradley Fulton Moore) of Whitwell; five grandchildren, Seth Dixon, Tanner Moore, Sloan Dixon, Sullivan Dixon, and Stella Dixon. He also leaves behind his most cherished and life long friends, Jarvis Wooten, Francis Pryor, Dutsey Kirk and James Brady, all of the Marion County area.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Central Time on Saturday, Jan. 5, at Havrons Chapel United Methodist Church at 3267 Shellmound Road, Jasper, Tn. 37347.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions to be made in his honor to the American Kidney Foundation.
