The 13th annual MainX24 parade and street festival will take place on the Southside on Saturday starting at 6:30 a.m. with a pancake breakfast fundraiser at Fire Hall #1.
This year, the $5 pancake breakfast will benefit the Forgotten Child Fund of Chattanooga, a non-profit run by the fire and police departments. Attendees to the festival are encouraged to bring a new toy or winter coat to donate to a local child in need.
The 24-hour long festival will continue with crafts, sales, shopping, music in the air and the wonderful aromas of Chattanooga food. Events include local shops offering discounts and door prizes, restaurants offering special menus, artisans in action, poetry, caroling, music, dancing, food and fun for all ages - all in celebration of Main Street and the surrounding Southside.
Events that are back again this year:
MainX24 EPB Southside Parade, Main Street, 10:30 a.m. This year, the parade will be led by a tribute bicycle ride and flower toss in loving memory of Sandy the Flower Man, who served as the parade’s grand marshal in 2018.
