Roosevelt Watkins, 70, of Chattanooga, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at his residence.  

He was a graduate of Greene County Training School.  He was employed with Wheland Foundry.  Roosevelt was a member of Zion Brush Creek Baptist Church.  

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia “CD” Watkins; parents, Hezekiah and Lucinda Watkins, Sr.; brother, Cleveland Watkins; sister, Eliza Chambers.  

Survivors include his son, Kelvin (Ligloria Ann) Watkins, Sr.; six grandchildren, all of Chattanooga; brothers, George (Ophelia) Watkins of Eutaw, Al. and Hezekiah Watkins, Jr. of Chattanooga; sisters, Gladys (Walter) Pritchett of Eutaw and Mary Walker of Chattanooga; aunts, Carrie Mobley and Savannah Cotton, both of Eutaw; special friends, Michael Wooten and Andy Patterson; a host of other relatives and friends.  

He will lie in state on Saturday, Dec. 7, after 1 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.  

Funeral services will be on Sunday, Dec. 8, at noon in the chapel with Brother John R. Taylor, Sr. as the eulogist. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
