Nicholas Galinger
Nicholas Scott Galinger, 38, of Chattanooga, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019, in a local hospital from injuries sustained in an accident.
Nicholas was a native of Cincinnati, Ohio and had lived in Chattanooga since August, 2018.
He moved to Chattanooga to pursue his dream to become a police officer. He had served with the Chattanooga Police Department since January, 2019.
Nicholas was a graduate of Clermont Northwestern High School and Devry University. He was of the Lutheran faith. He was an avid computer animation fan.
He is survived by his son, Ethan Galinger and daughter, Hailey Galinger, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; parents, Barry and Gretchen Galinger, Ellabell, Ga.; sisters, Tonya (Timothy) Hasty, Tiffany Galinger both of Cincinnati; brothers, Barry Douglas (Stephanie) Galinger II, Ft. Irwin, Ca., and Brent (Jennifer) Galinger, Ellabell, Ga.; grandmothers, Eileen Galinger, Ft. Thomas, Ky. and Patricia Ann Nolan, Cincinnati; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 1, at Mt. Washington Presbyterian Church, 6474 Beechmont Ave., Cincinnati, Oh. 45230. Burial will follow the services at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Cinncinati, Oh.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Feb. 28, from 12-5 p.m. at P.T. Whites Funeral Home, 2050 Beechmont Avenue, Cinncinati, Oh. 45230. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chattanooga Police dept. or to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements for Officer Galinger are being handled locally by the Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Chapel, 7454 E. Brainerd Road.
