Longtime Substitute Teacher At Ooltewah High School

Linda Colter Lundy died on March 14, 2019, at the age of 67, in her home after a prolonged illness.

The daughter of the late Ray and Ruth Colter, native of Natchez, Ms., and longtime Chattanooga resident, Linda is survived by her husband, McKinley; children, Anna, Mack, Sarah, and Adam, and grandchildren, Lily, Charlie, Trillium, and Forrester, and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandra and Eddie Burkes and Susan and Guy Hollingsworth.

Linda completed her BA and MA in history at the University of Mississippi and worked as a substitute teacher for many years at Ooltewah High School.

A lifelong loving and dedicated Presbyterian, Linda was active in her session and volunteered regularly to support both her congregations and UTC’s Presbyterian Campus Ministry at the Hope House,which, like Linda, shares love to students through food, hospitality, and unconditional kindness.

A memorial service will be held at Rivermont Presbyterian Church, 3319 Hixson Pike in Chattanooga on March 23, at 2 p.m. with a reception for family and friends to follow at the Hope House.
