Lee University’s Jazz Ensemble will present its spring concert on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the Conn Center.

Under the direction of Alan Wyatt, associate professor of music, the Jazz Ensemble will perform works by John Coltrane, Thad Jones and Henry Mancini.

The Lee University Jazz Ensemble performs both traditional and recent literature written and arranged for Big Band. The ensemble contains sections of wind and brass instruments including saxophones, trumpets, and trombones, as well as a rhythm section. A frequent award winner at national festivals, the ensemble performs for various campus, school, and civic events.

Mr. Wyatt has shared the stage with various well-known artists, including Frank Sinatra Jr., The Temptations, The Four Tops, Doc Severinsen, and Clay Aiken. In addition to directing the Jazz Ensemble, Wyatt teaches Applied Saxophone, Improvisation, Commercial Music Theory, and Commercial Music History. He also serves as the Area Coordinator for the Music Business degree program. 

This event is free, non-ticketed, and open to the public.
