Detective Eddie Sledge
Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Detective Eddie Sledge passed away suddenly on Saturday around 9:30 p.m.
Detective Sledge was a 22-year veteran of the HCSO. He began his career as a dispatcher in 1997. Since 2001, he served as a patrol deputy, a member of the Traffic Division, and was currently serving as a detective in Criminal Investigations Division at the time of his passing.
Detective Sledge was a dedicated and respected law enforcement professional regarded by all who had the pleasure of knowing or serving with him.
Officials said, "The HCSO is deeply saddened by this unexpected tragedy and we ask the community to keep his family and our agency in your thoughts and prayers."
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 4 - 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Bayside Baptist Church at 6100 Highway 58, Harrison.
The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. on Wednesday with interment in New McDonald Cemetery.
