Hazel M. Jackson, 80, of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2019, in the Hospice Care Center.  

She was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Jasper, where she was a devoted choir songstress. 

Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Benny Joe Spates; mother, Willie Mae Powell; father, Homer France; husband, Robert Jackson; and five siblings. 

Survivors include her son, Keith Spates of Atlanta; sisters, Elizabeth Bibbs of Chattanooga and Naomi Coach of Detroit, MI; brother, Floyd France of Chattanooga; devoted nephew, Jack France of Chattanooga; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. 

She will lie in state on Saturday, June 22, at 10 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home with the funeral to follow at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Greg Ludy as the eulogist. 

Burial will be in Garmany Memorial Gardens.
