Dalton Police Department Seeks Suspect In Walmart Theft Of A Pressure Washer; Suspect Identified

  • Wednesday, August 28, 2019

The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public's help to identify a man who stole a pressure washer from Walmart. The suspect was photographed by the store's surveillance system. Police said later Wednesday they had identified the suspect but not yet arrested him.

The theft happened on Monday at the Shugart Road Walmart. Shortly after 6 p.m., the suspect walked into the garden center area and selected a Stanley pressure washer valued at $179. He then waited for the garden center cashier to be distracted by another customer and walked out of the store without paying while her back was turned.

He walked to the back of the parking lot and got into the back seat of a gold pickup truck that appeared to be a Chevrolet Silverado with butterfly doors. The suspect is a white male with close cropped dark hair wearing a white and blue button down shirt.

Anyone who recognizes this individual is asked to contact Officer Caleb Morang by email at cmorang@daltonga.gov or at 706-278-9085, ext. 9248.
