Tennessee American Water experienced a main break late Thursday evening, near its plant. As they continue the repair, more customers will be affected, including downtown and North Chattanooga and experience low to no water pressure.
"We sent a CodeRed, emergency notification to customers this morning, Friday, Sept. 13 to alert the affected area," officials said. "We anticipate this repair to take all day.
"We apologize for the inconvenience as we work safely and as quickly as possible to complete the repair and restore water service."
