U.S. Army Korean War Veteran Held Long Career With Container Corporation Of America

Arvil Doyle “Bop Bop” Brewer, 90 of East Ridge, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 4, 2019.

 

Doyle was born in Dalton and lived most of his life in the North Georgia and Chattanooga area. He was a member of Duncan Park Baptist Church for over 60 years and served as a deacon. Doyle was an Army veteran having served during Korea and earned the rank of Corporal. After his military career, Doyle worked for and retired from the Container Corporation of America with over 30 years of service as an Engineer.  Doyle loved to work in his vegetable garden, cook, and his personal work shop.

 

Doyle was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Young Brewer; parents, Joe and Lillian Brewer; brothers, Allen, JD, BF, and Joe Brewer, Jr.

 

Survivors include his daughters, Elaine (Earnie) Powell and Doylene (Richard) Hise; grandchildren, Billy (Jessica) Kelly, Kathy (Barry) Murphy, and Bryan (Barbie) Powell; 8 great grandchildren; extended family, Allen and Star Markiewicz; sister-in-law, Allene Brewer; and many nieces and nephews.  

 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 1 p.m. in the Duncan Park Baptist Church at 1617 Glowmont Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37412 with Pastor Jeremy Kilgore officiating. Interment will follow in the Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

 

Serving as pallbearers will be: Jason Gunter, Bubba Kelly, Will Kelly, Avery Murphy, Allen Markiewicz, and JR Reed.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 4:30-8:30 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel and Tuesday from noon until the funeral hour at Duncan Park Baptist Church. Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, Rossville.
