Tractor-Trailer In Rollover Accident At Compress Street And Riverside Avenue

The Chattanooga Fire Department is working a tractor-trailer rollover accident at Compress Street and Riverside Avenue. 

It happened at 10:20 a.m. on Friday.

There are environmentally sensitive products on board so special precautions are being taken in the cleanup process.
Crews are digging an area for containment. 

The driver of the truck was sent to the hospital to get checked out.

Fire officials say they have worked several rollover incidents involving semi trucks at this location over the past year.

Agencies assisting the CFD include Chattanooga Police Department, HCEMS, Doug Yates Towing & Recovery, Marion Environmental, Hamilton County Marine Rescue, Chattanooga Public Works and Chattanooga Water Quality. 

Parts of Riverside Ave and Compress Street are closed in the immediate vicinity of the incident. Drivers are asked to avoid the area so emergency crews can work.
