It is the nonprofit partner of Hamilton County Schools with a purpose "to raise funds in support of initiatives that go above and beyond the regular school district budget."

Ms. Lennon said $62,000 has been raised thus far. She said the goal is to raise $250,000 by the end of the year.

She said launching of the foundation "comes at a good moment", saying that Supt. Bryan Johnson was chosen state superintendent of the year and "we are at a good moment. We are moving forward."
