Mary Quarles
Mary Ann “Susie” Quarles, 84, of Jasper, Tennessee passed away peacefully Sunday night on December 27, 2020 following a brief illness. She was a Christian and longtime member of Baptist Hill Baptist Church, where she served as church treasurer and taught the Ladies’ Sunday School class for many years.
As a child, she lived in Charleston, SC and she loved returning there for family vacations. She attended Marion County High School and married James M. Quarles on June 29, 1952. Together they raised four children. She was a long time employee of Cherokee Warehouse in Chattanooga, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Les Long and Novella Long Chambers.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 68 years, James Quarles; children, Jimmy (Karen) Quarles, Dale (Marilyn) Quarles, Warren (Kathy) Quarles, Marlene (Moody) Parsons all of Jasper, TN; grandchildren, Sharon (Chris) McCrary, Jeremy (Dawn) Quarles, Michael (Angela) Quarles, Josh (Marie) Quarles, Amanda (Cory) Glenn, Whitney (Chris) Blevins, and Leslie Ann (Jason) Sharp; thirteen (13) great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy (Larry) Parker along with several nieces, nephews and special friends.
The family will have a private visitation on Thursday, December 31, 2020.
There will be a graveside service on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 2:30 pm at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN with Pastor Steve Sellers officiating.
Pallbearers are Jeremy Quarles, Josh Quarles, Michael Quarles, Chris McCrary, Cory Glenn, Jason Sharp and Chris Blevins.
