Herbert L "Buddy" Cannon, of Georgetown, Tennessee, departed this life December 7, 2020 at home with his loving family by his side.

Born May 11, 1935 to James and Erma Duke Cannon of Hickman County, Tn., Buddy served our country in the Air Force and Army during the Korean War.

He was a faithful member of The Church Of God Prophecy-pastoring local church Spring Place and Durkee Road Church of God Prophecy for over 40 years and later in life pastoring and General Overseer for The Church of God. He had a great love for the church and especially the youth work. He worked many years in the youth camp. He also worked as a juvenile officer for Bradley County.

He had three brothers and three sisters, who departed this world leaving him to be the only surviving child of his late father and mother.

He left behind his loving wife of 65 years, Sue Hunt Cannon; sons, Keith and Michael Cannon along with Keith's wife Jennifer and Michael's girlfriend Julie; special sister, Mable Gardener and special brother Cliff; and special daughter, Cheryl Lambert. Buddy also left behind grandchildren Breann Bell and Steven of Athens, Tennessee, Dustin Cannon of Seattle, Washington, and KC Cannon the second of Georgetown Tennessee, Ethan Lambert of North Carolina; great-grand-children, Shea Ann Hicks and Harley Bell; and many nieces, nephews and children that he called his own.

He will be missed by all his family and friends, but God gained another angel at his throne. His favorite scripture was Romans 12:1.

We would like to give thanks to the wonderful hospice workers, who were faithful to Buddy and his family at any time they were needed.

Due to the COVID pandemic a Remembrance of Life Service will be held graveside Wednesday, Dec. 16, at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors. Because of Covid-19 concerns there will be no visitation.

Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services has charge of the arrangements.
