To combat the ongoing problems created by the COVID-19 virus, Ronnie Phillips Ministries International is partnering with Tony Ruiz at El Mesón in Hixson to give out 100 meals for families who are struggling through this pandemic.
Whether it is struggling single parents or families that that have simply fallen on hard times, RPMI and El Mesón will provide 100 free meals this Friday. Each meal will feed four people and can be picked up starting at 5 p.m. in the front circle of Abba’s House, 5208 Hixson Pike, just north of Northgate Mall in Hixson.
The meals are first-come, first-served. There will be signs to direct people where to go for curbside delivery of the meals, distributed by volunteers with gloves.
Officials said, "Phillips Ministries International is committed to delivering hope and help to the people in Chattanooga and around the world. Though they are of different denominations, Pastor Ronnie Phillips, lead pastor of Abba’s House (Baptist), and Tony Ruiz, owner of El Mesón (Catholic) believe that we are all part of one body of Christ that needs to rally around our community and provide help to those in need."
As people pick up food, they will also receive prayer in their cars.
