Samuel “Sam” R. Taylor, 77, of Cleveland, died on Saturday, May 30, 2020, at his residence.

He was a member of Blythe Avenue Baptist Church. Sam served as Director of the Laboratory at Athens Regional Hospital and was a member of the Cleveland Jaycees. He received his Doctorate in Ministry from Covington Theological Seminary.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse F. and Frances J. Stephens Taylor; and brother, Patrick Lee Taylor.

Survivors include his wife, Sara W. Taylor of Cleveland; son, Craig Anthony Taylor of Cleveland; daughter, Allison Leigh Taylor of Cleveland; sister-in-law, Alta Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with the Reverend Dwight Millsaps and the Reverend Jim Hindman officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Ted Johnson, Michael Harvey, Daniel Johnson, Chris Trentham, Kevin Trentham, B.J. Allen, Rob Gary, and Jason Harvey serving as pallbearers. David Skaggs and Darrell Graves will serve as honorary pallbearers.

His family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials be made to Cleveland Gideon South Camp, P.O. Box 1163, Cleveland, Tn. 37364-1163.
