Kinuko “Betty” H. Lewis of Whitwell, Tennessee, passed away at the age of 89, on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at Erlanger Hospital.
She was born and raised in Japan. She met her love of her life, Reece Lewis while he was serving in the armed services. After coming to United States of America, she obtained her rights to becoming an American citizen. For years, they lived in the Atlanta area. In 1979, they moved to Whitwell, to make their final home.
Betty had a career in various fields until she moved to this area. Then she worked as a waitress for many years in numerous restaurants in this area. Reece and Betty’s children were her five dogs that they truly loved and adored. She was also known for her love of cooking American and Japanese dishes.
To treasure her memories are her husband, Reece Lewis; sister in law, Ruby Roberts; nephews, Marty (Kay) Roberts and Dennis (Kim) Lewis; nieces, Lisa (Steve) Keahey and Elizabeth Adams; great nephews, Chevy Roberts and Chan Pesnell; great-niece Krystal (Colby) Mahone and Lauren Pesnell along with a host of special friends from Atlanta, GA.
The family will have a graveside service on Wednesday, July 1, at 2 p.m. CDT at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper.
Pallbearers are Marty Roberts, Dennis Lewis, Chevy Roberts and Chan Pesnell.
