James Clifton Wright
James "Jim" Clifton Wright, age 75, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Sunday, August 16, 2020 at CHI Memorial Hospital.
James was born Aug. 16, 1945 in Paducah, Ky., the son of the late Verlie and Wanetta Gish Wright. James was also preceded in death by brothers, Charles and Donnie Wright; and sisters, Dorothy Cripps and Barbara Burrows. He was also preceded in death by his grandchildren, Taylor Garrett and Hali Gagne.
Jim spent 45 years in the TV industry, starting in Paducah, Ky. then onto Memphis, Tn. and ending his career in Chattanooga at WDSI and WDEF. Jim enjoyed talking, making new friends, and watching sports on TV.
Jim is survived by his wife, Gale Long Wright, they were married April 5, 1968 and just celebrated 52 years of marriage. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Susan and Mark Gonterman of Huntsville, AL, Bonnie Jeffers of Hopkinsville, KY, Jason and Sara Wright of Signal Mountain, TN; and grandchildren, Reagan (Nick) Nuss of Cullman, AL, Cliff Garrett of Huntsville, AL, Katy Lorch of Huntsville, AL, William, Benjamin, and Caroline Wright of Signal Mountain, TN, Danny Stokes of Johnson City, TN, Rachel Stokes of Birmingham, AL, and Carrie (Joe) Anderson of Franklin, TN.
A memorial service of James “Jim” Clifton Wright will be held Saturday, Aug. 22, at 2 p.m. from Lookout Valley Baptist Church with Pastor Troy Walliser officiating.
The family will receive friends at Lookout Valley Baptist Church, 23 Lilac Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37419 from 12:30 p.m. until the service hour.
