Former Chattanooga Mayor Jon Kinsey announced Friday his formal endorsement of mayoral candidate Kim White. Mr. Kinsey, who served the city from 1997 to 2001, said he "believes Kim White has the demonstrated leadership, experience and qualifications to propel Chattanooga and its residents forward."
He said, “Kim has dedicated her life to creating new opportunities and has the expertise, resolve and courage to successfully lead our city.
Over the past several years, the influence of her leadership has transformed Chattanooga. As mayor, her ability to inspire positive change is simply unmatched. I deeply trust Kim’s vision and tenacity at the helm of our city and am proud to endorse her as our next mayor.
:As a result of her leadership of River City Company, Chattanooga saw a renewed focus on housing, strengthened relationships with public and private partners and the development of public spaces. White’s campaign is focused on building upon that experience and recharging the economy and community through job creation, small business support, new business recruitment, affordable housing, roadway improvements, support of first responders, early childhood learning and more.
“Kim already has the hands-on experience working with two city administrations and the proven leadership to hit the ground running and zero in on the issues facing so many citizens in this difficult chapter of our lives."
Ms. White said, “It’s a tremendous honor to have Mayor Kinsey’s support in this race,” said White. “I very much respect all he was able to accomplish as mayor for the greater good of our city. I consider him a partner in the continued work here."
