Loach, Thomas Eugene "Gene" (LaFayette)

Thomas Eugene "Gene" Loach, 81, of LaFayette, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020.

He was longtime active member of the LaFayette First Baptist Church. Gene was a graduate of LaFayette High School and worked for Fortune Mills and E.T. Barwick Mills. In 1976, he began his career in insurance and later worked with Stiles Parker & Co., until his retirement in 2019. He was also a member of the Mountain City Corvette Association.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Dean Loggins Loach; and parents, William Albert Loach Jr., and Janie Mae Ballenger Loach.

He is survived by his two sons, Kelly R. Loach of Dallas, TX and Thomas (Jill) A. Loach of Boise, ID; grandchildren, Allison and David Loach; brothers, Bill Loach and Al Loach; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 5, at LaFayette City Cemetery with Dr. Derrick Fielder officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gene’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, Tn. 38105.

In light of COVID-19, family requests that all who attend please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
