Larry Johnson, 73, of Rossville, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 23, 2021.

 

Larry was born and raised in the Chattanooga area and was a dedicated member of Temple Baptist Church since 1974. He served as head usher for many years and loved his church family dearly. Larry retired from GEM Products after many years of service and later worked for Lowe’s. In his free time Larry enjoyed playing cards, listening to country music, watching videos, and studying Native American Culture.

 

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Lorene Johnson; sister, Jerry Griffth; and several aunts and uncles.

 

Survivors include his nieces, Tomesa (Robin) Johnson; aunts, Jeanetter (Ray) Hughes and Debbie Johnson; numerous cousins; special friend, Ruth Delzell and her sister, Betty Delzell; best friends, Bob (Mary Jo) McCoy, Buddy (Judy) Keith, and Felix Webb.

 

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Nov. 28, at 3 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Brother Bob McCoy officiating. A private interment will be held in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Temple Baptist Church at 3204 Clio Ave. Chattanooga, Tn. 37407.

 

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, Rossville.
