Tony Gray
Anthony “Tony” Gray, a Walden Security guard at the County Courthouse, recently passed away after battling cancer for over two years.
He had no family at all, but was adopted by some of his courthouse friends.
One of those was Brooke Weaver, administrator in the county clerk office.
She said, "Unfortunately, the cancer metastasized. He passed peacefully.
"Even in his final days he asked frequently about his courthouse family.
"On his behalf, I want to say thank you to all who provided him a helping hand. Many gave their time daily to chat with him, gave him meals, collected money and shared their resources to make his life easier.
"I found several writings of scripture on his kitchen table. I pray Tony is resting easy on the wings of eternity with his mother and father."
Mr. Gray was a military veteran and was buried at the National Cemeter.
Ms. Weaver said, "He was buried in a beautiful gray and silver casket at the National Cemetery. As you pull into the cemetery, turn right, his grave is on the right, before you reach the office buildings."
He was laid to rest at the National Cemetery
