Ms. Bostwick is the author of 15 novels and three novellas, several of which have gone on to be New York Times and USA Today bestsellers. Her 2015 novel, The Second Sister, was adapted in 2018 into a Hallmark Hall of Fame film, Christmas Everlasting, and starred Patti LaBelle.
She will be speaking about her novel, The Restoration of Celia Fairchild. About the book:
Celia Fairchild, former writer of the popular “Dear Calpurnia” advice column, and hopeful adoptee, has just learned that she has inherited her aunt's estate in Charleston. With nothing left for her in New York, Celia decides head back South. When she arrives, she finds the grand house she once remembered in disrepair, but the community of Charleston is more than ready to welcome her home. With their help, Celia begins to restore the historical house to its stately prime, and with it, dares to imagine a different future for herself, her newfound family, and the child she so desperately wants.
Ms. Bostwick always had a talent for tender, compassionate women’s fiction, and this sixteenth novel is a celebration of that expertise, as she said, “I could never have imagined what this book would become, the ways it taps into my own experience, forcing me to pour more of myself into the story than I’d bargained for. It wasn’t easy, but I believe it made Celia’s story richer, and better, and more real.”
