Wilma Louise Angel Rogers, 92, of Hixson, passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021. 

She was born on March 3, 1929 in Pikeville, Tn. 

Wilma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She held a special place in her heart for church and family.  Wilma was a devotee of hymns, gospel, and classical music.  She served many years as church organist, and during those years she taught piano and organ lessons. In addition to her love for music, her passions were, art, painting, sewing, and flower gardening.

Wilma attended Red Bank Baptist Church, and was a member of the Truth Seekers Sunday School Class. 

She was preceded in death by her husband William Luther “Luke” Rogers; parents, James and Grace Angel; sister, Blanche Ricketts; and brothers, Robert Angel, and Wallace Angel.

Wilma is survived by her three daughters, Pam (Don) Ringley, Judy (Tommy) Gardner, and Jacquie (Huey) Long; six grandchildren, Robyn Grant, Jason (Diana) Long, Jeremy (Michelle) Long, Brooke (Ryan) Kocker, Andrew (Becky) Curtis, and Jordan (Josh) Anderson; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at the graveside in Hamilton Memorial Gardens at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 6. 

The family wishes to thank all of Wilma’s caregivers at Soddy Daisy Healthcare Center for their loving and excellent care.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either, St. Jude’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tn. 38105 or Mountain Brook Community Church, 3001 Highway 280 East, Birmingham, Al. 35243.

We respectfully request that “social distancing”, wearing masks at all times, and all CDC guidelines and measures be adhered to at the funeral home and the cemetery.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
