Marcia Brooks
Marcia Jennette Brooks, 73, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 3, 2021.
She was a 1965 graduate of Riverside High School. She retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was employed from 1990-1991 with Parkwood Nursing Home. Marcia was of Christian faith. She had a sweet, sweet spirit and was a caring mother. She is going to be sadly missed by many. Remember this is truly a home going that we all have to do one day.
She was preceded in death by her loving and caring husband of 47 years, pastor Clarence Brooks, Sr.; children, Clarence Brooks, Jr. and Benita Brooks; caring parents, Lee Elmo and Carrie Douglas, Sr.; brothers, James Jones, Sr., Robert Douglas, Sr., Freddie Douglas, Sr., Lee Douglas, Jr.; uncle, Daniel Douglas, aunt, Jamella Jones; nephew, Anthony Douglas; niece, Brandy Douglas.
Survivors include her daughter, Charlyn Brooks; brothers, Coleman Douglas and George Douglas; sister, Deborah Peavey; nieces and nephews, Michael (Vinci) Douglas, Kirk Douglas, Chasity Douglas, Timothy Douglas, Omar Douglas, Rashad Douglas, Michael Jones, James Jones, Renee Jones, Rosalyn Hicks, Robert Douglas, Cedrick Douglas, Sonja Potter, David Brooks, Jr., Porsha Brooks; special friends, Charlotte Brooks, Shannon Westmoreland, and Annie Shropshire; a host of great-nieces; great-nephews; other relatives and friends.
She will lie in state on Sunday, April 11, from 12-4 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. She will lie in state on Monday, April 12, at 11 a.m. with a graveside service to follow at 1 p.m. in Forest Hills Cemetery with Brother John R. Taylor, Sr. giving words of comfort.
