Betty Angeline Wallace Barton
Reverend Betty Angeline Wallace Barton, age 69, of Ringgold, Georgia, departed this life Monday, April 5, 2021, at her home with her children at her side.
Betty was born Jan. 14, 1952 in Jacksonville, Fl., the daughter of the late Lee Morris Phillips and Eula Francis Overby Phillips. She was also preceded in death by her son, Don Barton; and brothers, David Black, Morris Phillips and Allen Black.
Betty loved the Lord and her family. Betty was a prayer warrior and would witness of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Betty was the minster at Liberty House of Praise.
Betty is survived by her son, Greg (Ramona) Barton of Tunnel Hill, GA; daughters, Cassandra (Terry) Hardin of Rocky Face, GA, Sarah (Josh) Malone of Chatsworth, GA; brothers, Gary (Frances) Miolen of Rocky Face, GA Josh Phillips; sisters, Brenda (Johnny) Towers of Dalton, GA of Dalton, GA, Debbie (Edward) Duckworth of Ringgold, GA, Emma (Rich) Warren of Varnell, GA, Patricia Franklin of Ringgold, GA, Priscilla Philips of Ringgold, GA, Mary (Donny) Dunn of Cohutta, GA; grandchildren, Caleb Hardin, Jacob Hardin, Michelle (Richard) Keen, Kaitlyn Malone, Derrick Malone, Gregory Barton, Amber (Matthew) Brown, Bridget Barton, Craig Barton, Julieaunna Barton; great-grandchildren, Gregory Barton Jr, Braylon Barton, Braxton Barton, Sophia Barton, Abbygail Brown, Maddilin Barton, Camron Hardin. Also, many nieces and nephews and friends.
The service to celebrate the life of Reverend Betty Angeline Barton will be held Saturday, April 10, at 3 p.m. from Ponders Melrose Chapel with Pastor Johnny Carnes officiating. Burial will follow the service at Sugar Valley Old Methodist Church Cemetery in Sugar Valley Cemetery with Craig Barton, Gregory Barton, D.J. Dunn, Michael Phillips, Patrick Roark, Matthew Brown and Sam Duckworth having the honor serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 9, at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5-9 p.m. and from 11 a.m. until the service hour of 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 10.
Due to the national health crisis and the COVID-19 virus, masks must be worn properly at all times and social distancing must be observed when visiting the funeral home.
